Mark making - Devise a drawing
exercise (similar to the music drawing exercise in class) to create a page for your zine.
You can use any material but the marks need to be inspired by your theme.
Conduct your drawing exercise and use the cropping
process from class to find a pleasant composition.
Tonal drawing - Draw a shape that best
depicts your zine theme. Shade and tone the shape with a medium good for
achieving tonal range and with a one point light source.
Collage/ merging layers - Conduct the merging layers exercise
from class again but following your own theme and using a selection of images
related to that theme.
Warm Collage/ merging layers - Repeat
but using a warm colour palette.
Cool Collage/ merging layers - Repeat
but using a cool colour palette.
Colour theme - If you could choose one
colour to represent your theme what would it be? Why? Using the medium of your
choice create a page of that colour. See what textures you can achieve
in your chosen colour with your chosen medium.
